Meet Jack.
The 16-year-old behind Jack’s Jobs.
Jack has Fragile X and is starting a gardening business in Canberra with the support of Tom, his support worker.
Together, Jack and Tom help with the small jobs that keep gardens looking cared for — from mowing and weeding to hedge trimming and tidy-ups.
Jack’s Jobs brings those everyday garden tasks together in a small local business, with Tom alongside Jack on each visit. It is a practical way to take on work in the community, one garden at a time.
A little understanding
About Fragile X.
Everyone’s experience is different.
Fragile X syndrome is a genetic condition that can affect learning, development, communication and how people respond to the world around them. The effects vary from person to person, so a diagnosis alone does not tell you someone’s abilities or the support they need.
For Jack’s Jobs, support is part of how the business works. Jack and Tom come as a team: Jack takes on garden jobs with Tom alongside him, and Tom looks after the equipment, transport and quality of the work.
You do not need to know all about Fragile X to book a visit. Just tell us what needs doing in your garden, and Tom will discuss the job with you.

From a lawn that needs a mow to a garden bed that needs weeding, tell us what you have in mind.
Small jobs are $20 per hour, and larger jobs are by quote. We work across Canberra.
